"The Oracle" is a custom built 70' fiberglass west coaster which was built for charter by Freeman boat builders of Australia in 1999, Powered by twin 430HP Yanmar diesels "The Oracle" cruises comfortably at 10-12 knots with a maximum of 16-17 knots. Weighing in at just under 50 tonne with a large keel "The Oracle" provides a comfortable fishing platform& lives up to west coasters reputation for seaworthiness. "The Oracle" has spacious accommodation for up to 16 passengers in 6 cabins and a forward bunk room, a large saloon with two tables and plenty of seating, modern galley with full size appliances and plenty of bench space, air conditioning throughout, two stereo systems, TV, VCR and DVD, on board computer systems with internet access and emailing. The Bridge on "The Oracle" features the latest in electronic equipment which includes two GPS systems, colour plotter, colour sounder, wind instruments, SSE & VHF radios, auto pilot, radar, on board computer with C'Plot and Weatherfar and two way intercom. "The Gambler" was launched in 2001 and Blade runner boats / Silver wing Marine in Auckland built her. She is a 30 foot, comfortable, stable, purpose built fishing platform and can accommodate 6 to 8 Anglers. The Gambler is an MSA surveyed vessel with state of the art electronics like a Furuno Navnet GPS Radar Overlay and a 10inch Dual frequency Colour Sounder. She is powered by 2 x 225hp 4-stroke Honda Outboards. We also have a large fish hold with plenty of salt ice. Other equipment includes four Tuna tubes, live bait tank, game chair, toilet, stereo, gas hob and oven. Also carried is a wide range of rods and fishing tackle to catch all of the abundant fish species in New Zealand. We have 4 x 80w Shimano Tiagras, 2 x 50w Shimano Tiagras, 2 x Black Magic Standup gimbals and harnesses, 6 x Hapuka Rods and Reels, 6 x snapper Rods and Reels and 6 x stray lining Rods and Reels. Our fishing trips can cater for individuals, groups of up to 5 on our fast catamaran or larger groups of up to a dozen or more on the 15 meter launch that is designed for Cook Strait and has all the safety and comfort you require. We can depart from Titahi Bay, Mana or Wellington any time of the year. The trips are bottom fishing for groper, bluenose, terakihi, blue cod and during the warmer months the addition of snapper trevally and kingfish are a possibility from the west coast.
